Week 1 Clues

Team 1- Visit a facility where nurses work in the UK, photograph the exterior, and observe. What are the similarities and difference in uniforms, shoes, and hours of work?

Team 2- Find an STD clinic in London.  Obtain a brochure from the clinic and ask the front desk person how many patients are received on a daily basis. Take a picture of the exterior.
Clue: due to an emphasis on personal privacy amongst England citizens, combined with the stigma of an STD, don’t expect the title of the clinic to suggest the purpose of the clinic!

Team3- Visit acupuncture clinic, obtain brochure from the clinic, and list treatment, modalities, cost, and purpose.

Team 4- Find a facility that provides shelter to abused women and children.  What are the most common causes of violent deaths in the London area, compared to Los Angeles?

Team 5- What health related posters, signs, and reminders you can find in a public domain that attempt to affect behavior for the benefit of overall public health?  Are these signs specific as to who they are sponsored by?

Team 6- Visit a grocery store that caters to the rich and a grocery store that caters to the poor population.  Compare and contrast nutritional offerings using photos and text.

Team 7- What measures has the city taken to protect public from transmission of infectious disease? What information can you obtain in the public WC?
