Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 39 months, without requiring an LVN certification and without being placed on a waiting list for nursing courses.

BSN Curriculum
West Coast University's nursing courses provide students with the knowledge and professional nursing skills necessary to assist patients and clients toward an optimal level of health. The curriculum integrates critical thinking, decision-making, leadership and management techniques with moral, ethical and legal principles associated with providing outstanding care in a clinical setting. Students practice in both acute and long-term care facilities as well as in community settings.

The mission of the College of Nursing is to provide evidence-based and innovative nursing education to culturally diverse learners; preparing nurses to provide quality and compassionate care responsive to the needs of the community and the global society.
The philosophy of the College of Nursing is that education is a continuous process occurring in phases throughout an individual's lifetime. Nurses are lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
West Coast University has established the following Program Learning Outcomes, which flow directly from the College of Nursing’s mission and philosophy. In short, this is what you, as a student of WCU’s nursing program, can expect to have learned when you graduate.
Students applying for entrance into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program must have a high school diploma or a GED and must earn passing scores on WCU entrance evaluations. Other courses, training, and experience are optional and may enable students to receive transfer credit or have the ability to receive course credit by “testing out” in specific subjects. The University Catalog provides detailed information regarding how students may be eligible to take challenge examinations for certain courses, and thereby fulfill the course requirements.
