MSHCM Curriculum
The curriculum has been designed to provide the fundamental knowledge required of supervisors and managers in the health care industry including planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the delivery of health care products and services.
We offer the program in a bookend format where you attend the first and last classes onsite and complete the balance of the curriculum online.

Choose Your Graduation Date
This 36-credit, professional program offers a concentrated, full-time option with completion in as little as 15 months. We understand the needs of working professionals – people who require both a challenging curriculum and flexible schedule. Our MSHCM program accommodates these needs, with classes meeting on campus one weekend every 10 weeks and the balance of coursework completed online.
The mission of the Health Care Management program is to provide students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds with the managerial tools required to make informed and socially responsible decisions for the benefit of the society, organization and its stakeholders.
The Master of Science (MS) in Health Care Management degree provides students with a strong foundation in the core functional areas of Management with a focus on the Health Care industry. The program prepares students with the multidisciplinary skills required for the supervisory and managerial positions to meet the challenges facing the health care industry and the significant social impact it has on the economy.
Students graduating from the MSHCM program should be able to:
1. Have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
a. Applicants with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7 to 2.99 may be considered for admission on probation for one semester, requiring a B or better to be removed from probation during their first semester.
b. Students on probation in their first term who do not achieve a grade of B or better will be dismissed from the program.
2. For students who have an undergraduate degree in Business, Health Care Management or related field, the criteria outlined above are sufficient.
3. For students who have an undergraduate degree in a program other than Business, Health Care Management or related field:
a. Students are required to fulfill the prerequisite requirement equivalents of Math 108 (College Mathematics) and 310 (WCU undergraduate Statistics) prior to or in their first term of enrollment.
b. Applicants have the following options to meet admissions criteria:
i. Composite GRE score of 1000 or
ii.Total GMAT score of 400 or
iii.Enroll in WCU’s BUSI 100 course (Introduction to Business) as a prerequisite requirement and earn a B or higher in prior to or in their first term of enrollment
c. Applicants taking prerequisite courses in the program are conditionally enrolled in the program until completion of the pre-requisite courses.

1 West Coast University also offers certain online courses to students enrolled in on-ground programs. If a student enrolled in an on-ground program chooses to take a course or courses offered online, he/she will be subject to a Technology fee of $150 per course in addition to the tuition charges listed above.
2 All credits taken in a single semester which exceed 18 credits will be charged at $800 per credit with the exception of students in the core requirements of Dental Hygiene.
